Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to identify the impact of teaching, using the cooperative learning method, on the development of some social skills, among secondary school pupils by identifying the appropriate size of cooperation in both mixed groups and groups of only girls or boys.

The two researchers used the experimental approach, as it fits the nature of this study by designing three experimental groups using before and after result method on the three groups on a sample of 104 students of the first year secondary school (2016-2017).

To measure the students' social skills, they used the questionnaire before and after the application of the learning program using the collaborative learning method on the research sample, which consists of four chapters (group work habits, cooperation, communication and self-control).

The results of the study indicated that: - There is no difference in the impact of teaching physical education and sports, using the method of cooperative learning, on the development of some students' social skills attributed to the size of the cooperative group.

- The use of co-operative groups of the same sex is better than co-operative groups of mixed sex, in the development of some students' social skills concerning physical education and sports.
