Abstract EN

The study of European desert Ksour explorers focused on social aspects and life within the Ksar, such as customs and traditions.

The architectural and town-planning history of Ksar has been omitted.

Their studies neglected the cultural and economic dimensions in the planning of these Ksour.

Especially since the latter represent an architectural landmark in harmony with the desert environment and climate.

It goes without saying that the architecture of the Ksar is subject to the reflection of its inhabitants and their social living conditions, also to the nature of the raw materials used on the one hand, and the security instability of the Sahara during the period of "Saybah" or the non-state stage on the other hand.
