Abstract EN

This study was conducted as an attempt to explore the types of grammatical errors in the writings and the most common errors committed by non-native Arabic learners.

the participants were 40 non-Arabic language learners who were studying at the institute of teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers at the Islamic university of medina.

the participants were asked to choose one of three topics presented to them, and write about it within 150-200 words; the study adopted error analysis approach.

the result of the study showed that learners errors amounted to (562).

these errors were under (17) grammatical phenomenon; most of these errors were caused by the transfer from the mother tongue, and the lack of knowledge of Arabic grammar.

therefore, teachers should be fully familiar with grammatical subjects, which are difficult to be acquired by non-Arabic learners.
