The Sahel region is one of the most fragile in the world, combining asymmetric security threats such as transnational terrorism, which is active in the region in alliance with organized crime groups through cooperation with human trafficking organizations, trade in drugs and weapons, and illegal immigration, so that the region is a transit area for it towards the other north-European side, as well as asymmetric security threats such as problems related to the nature of the formation of the state in the region, such as the problem of the failed state and the ethnic problem, as well as the Libyan crisis and the related to mutual security dependence? Therefore, in this study, we will try to highlight the reality of security threats - characterized by expansion and proliferation - which have became of paramount importance on the world stage, particularly the Sahel region, through the nature and background of these threats, as well as the serious effects they have on them.
