The importance of geographical locations, especially water ones, constitutes a prominent role in global and regional international conflicts.

this is clearly demonstrated by the model of the conflict in Yemen and the role of the Bab al-Mandab strait as an influential factor in it, where the strategic location that Yemen enjoyed through its overlooking on the most important international trade and navigation routes represented in the Bab al-Mandab strait constituted an attractive factor and a significant motive for foreign interventions mainly politically, military and ideologically and especially regional ones, such as Saudi Arabia, Iran and the UAE in the Yemeni conflict.

this has further complicated and prolonged the Yemen crisis due to the intertwined interests of the actors involved, which found in the weakness and fragility of the internal Yemeni environment the most prominent factor in the retaliation in the strategic importance of the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
