Rome worked to popularize the Latin language, which found in the cities of the ancient Maghreb a fertile environment for spread and entrenchment, and this is in light of the absence of real linguistic competition in the arena.

therefore, it adopted Latin as an official language in courts, councils and decrees, and influenced the Luba language, especially in the metropolises among the educated class, despite Rome’s keenness to popularize its language and literature by all means, it failed to implement its policy in a practical way, due to the rejection of the inhabitants who continued to use their Lubian dialects influenced by the Punic language, especially in villages, mountains and in the desert.
