Scientific and technological advances resulted in the complexity of product composition; it has increased by the possibility of consumers to suffer damages that the provisions of traditional responsibility failed to compensate for.

This study aims to highlight haw compensation for damages of defective products contributes to the protection of the consumer, by highlighting the economic analysis of the damage resulting from defects of products that is distinguished from known harm within the framework of the traditional rules of responsibility, and which the consumer can claim the interferer to compensate, which varies according to the nature of the protected interest, but before the traditional compensation provisions failure, insurance technology emerged as an alternative solution to ensure fair compensation to the consumer.
