Abstract EN

Buildings or clay architecture is one of the most prominent feature of the Algerian desert.

Tuwat with its three large areas ( Tuwat, Tidikalt and Guorara )is now occupied a large area of this vast desert.

Perhaps the most noticeable is the distinctive building of the nud-built area as a material heritage that expresses the culture and history of the inhabitants of these regions, and a way to preserve their national identity.

Through this article, I have attempted to address the historical and civilization dimension of clay architecture in Tuwat region, the patterns of this architecture, its characteristics and factors affecting it.

Among the things that were touched upon are religious architecture, such as mosques and corners dwellings and houses, kasbahs, Places, and funerary architecture like graveyards.
