This article aims to shed light on a topic of great importance in social sciences and public policies in all countries, especially in developing countries, which is represented by a debate that has been taking place and is still revolving around the problem of trade-offs between inequality and growth.

this article also aims to present an attempt to demonstrate that equitable and democratic institutions are the solution to that problem.
