The topic of economic control revolves around the relative withdrawal of the state from the economic field, the result of all that, is the creation of a group of bodies that reflect this concept and replace the states in the regulation of different sectors, in this context Algeria has known over the years, the creation of many regulation's authorities, and the most important one is the competition council.

the purpose of this study is to present the most important powers given to the competition council as an operating regulatory authority which provide a competitive atmosphere that allows the practice of economics activities without pressure.

one of the most important findings is that the council has horizontal control authority across all sectors, in addition it has broad powers that are close to those of the executive branch, but unfortunately, these powers don't have the mandatory force that makes them enforceable.
