This study highlights one of the important natural resources, the geostationary orbit, which is distinguished from other space orbits in that it provides the satellites that are placed above it a number of unique properties that make them usable in many fields.

Desiring to take advantage of these unique characteristics, the tropical countries claimed that they had the right to sovereignty over parts of the fixed orbit located above their territories, and this claim met the opposition of jurisprudence and the rest of the world.

This study aims to find a solution to the existing controversy by defining the legal system that governs the geostationary orbit, and presenting all possible ways to regulate its use, and in conclusion, to evaluate these methods and clarify their efficiency.
