This research paper aims to shed light on Malik Bani's vision and Mohammed Mahathir's project to get rid of the problem of hegemony and dependency in the international monetary system.

ben Nabi had recognized the seriousness of the exploitation and loss of developing countries in international trade because of the nature of the prevailing international monetary system.

after a few decades Mahathir faced this problem during the southeast Asian crisis of 1997 when he was prime minister of Malaysia.

this situation prompted him to propose the gold dinar project to end the dominance of the us dollar and put an end to currency speculators.

the study concluded that Bennabi and Mahathir generally relied on the same proposed solutions.

in fact, both of them suggested the return to commodity money exchange (gold, silver, real commodities).the adoption of the gold dinar in the settlement of international payments among Islamic and developing countries.

as it will reduce the dependence and hegemony of the us dollar, and it will provide many advantages and benefits.
