Turkish diplomacy establishes its growing regional role in the region in general and Iraq in particular, which is based on taking Turkey out of the circle of self-isolation, into the circle of regional action since the beginning of the new millennium, in an effort to reserve an advanced position in the multi-polar world under formation, which is preparing to inherit the legacy of the United States American as the only universal pole.

The importance of Iraqi-Turkish relations has emerged as being of overlapping dimensions.

Historically, Iraq has been under Ottoman control since the entry of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent to Baghdad in 1543, this control continued until the end of World War I in 1918.

The existing relations between Iraq and Turkey are governed by a number of factors and historical, economic, religious, and cultural foundations, stemming from religious heritage and the historical relationship, given that Turkey has colonized Iraq for a long period of time.

The reality imposed by the accelerating changes in the region requires a careful pragmatic role for Turkey, the aim of which is to seize opportunities in various fields, especially the diplomatic field, and in which Iraq has shown great weakness compared to the Turkish role, which motivates me as a researcher to delve deeper into the strengths and weaknesses of both sides in the diplomatic field and the consequence of this on the strength of the two countries, their achievement of their higher national goals and interests.
