This intervention was translated through the increasing number of multilateral environmental agreements, which were truly a remarkable achievement, and this is for their important binding role in the protection of the international environment as binding legal instruments.

It can be said that the United Nations Environment Program has taken the lead in the efforts of the international community to protect the environment, and the role of this program has been supported by the formation of the United Nations governmental team on the good management of the international environment, which included in its membership all the specialized international agencies, funds and programs of the United Nations system the United Nations, and the secretariats of multilateral environmental agreements.
