Abstract EN

The present research study aims to investigate the issues of the television religious discourse and the used strategies to create and shape the religious identity of Algerian women.

In this context, we started our study from the problematic that questions the effectiveness of televised religious discourse in shaping women's identity responses, and the mechanisms of interaction of her traditional faith with modern faith registers.

Accordingly, the worked on an intentional sample consisting of twelve (12) case studies from the city of Mascara to conduct the interviews, relying on the scientific-analytical approach.

The study concluded that local woman experience a strategic negotiation between the traditional and modern faith registers through the process of going back and forth between them in representation and action.

They also witness a kind of false an anxious awareness in different times, as many of her daily social practices and behaviors reflect a distinct reality that sometimes reaches the level of contradiction and plurality.
