Abstract EN

Modern Arabic poetry has passed through successive schools of poetry whose relationship to the poetic heritage in particular was confirmed, even if the quality of this relationship changed from one school to another.

by reviving the virgin and sentimental heritage in general and presenting a modern image of it that takes care of the self’s feelings and individual visions through this general slogan expressed by Abd al-Rahman Shukri by saying, “except, o bird of paradise, poetry is conscience”.

the depth of the relationship of these poets with their heritage, and there is no evidence for that from the “Diwan of Arabic poetry” that Adonis chose, and Salah Abdel-Sabour’s work on ancient Arabic poetry and the presentation of his important book “a new reading of our old poetry”.

as for the relationship of these three schools in general to heritage in general at its various levels : historical and literary this is what we will stop at in order to know the qualitative transformation made by the al-Tafeelah poets when they moved from the expression of the heritage that spread in the school of revival aims to express it and use it symbolically, but before this we must first stop in front of the concept of “heritage” in order to realize the ways in which it was inspired by poetry.
