Abstract EN

The studys aim to identify the optional silence and its relation to the school adaptation of the first grade students from the point of view of teachers.

The number of respondents was (200) male and female teachers selected by simple random method with equal distribution.

To measure this aim, an optional silence scale and a school adaptation scale were constructed.

The most important results of the study indicate that students do not suffer from optional silence, there is a positive correlation between the weakness of optional silence and school adjustment.
