The Muslim woman had an important role in all areas of political, economic, social and scientific life, starting from the era of the Prophet, passing through the era of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, the Umayyad era, and the Abbasid era.

Clear imprints in political events, their impact varies in each era according to their proximity or position with the Caliph, whether it was his sister, mother or daughter, and even the maidservants in the palaces of the Caliphs sometimes participated in some political events, and the mother of the Fatimid Caliph Al-Mustansir had an important role in the political life in Egypt during the era of her son.

She participated in matters of governance and appointing ministers, and even ignited strife among the soldiers' sects, which is the beginning of the end of the Fatimid state.

It has a presence, and its role in the politics of the caliphate became weak after that, from the year 462 AH / 1069 AD, and perhaps the Al-Mustansiriya hardship that befell the country since the year 463 AH / 1070 AD was a reason for the disappearance of its role and the emergence of great ministers such as Badr al-Jamali, who Caliph Al-Mustansir will call him to save the country in 466 AH/1073 AD, and this situation continued until the death of Caliph al-Mustansir in 487 AH/1094AD.
