The thresholds play an important role in the literary work، and the text cannot be understood in isolation from its thresholds that contribute to giving us a sound reading of any literary work، and what semiotics concerned with was the study of the framework that surrounds the text، in what is known as the parallel texts upon which the text buildings are based، and its role is In transferring the receiving center from the text to the parallel text، which is what this study focused on.

The research aims to monitor the semiotics of the textual thresholds and the narrative opening in that novel; On the grounds that the thresholds have an influential role in lighting the way for the reader، and bringing him closer to the center of the novel and its rhetorical content، and one of the most important questions that the research tries to answer: What are the most prominent textual thresholds in the novel “Fitna Al-Arush”? How was the author able to employ these thresholds semiotically? The research relied - in treatment - on semiotic data in reading the thresholds، the plan began with a theoretical framework on the semiotic approach in studying the thresholds of the text، and the topic was treated through the thresholds of the text (where the research was divided into an introduction، a prelude and three sections، taking care to benefit from the relevant sources and references in directing Research semiotically.
