In the midst of this contemporary world where we witness globalization and the development and diversity of communication technologies, and the spread of wars and terrorism, talking about citizenship becomes an urgent matter.

Citizenship is defined as a social relationship between a natural individual and a political community or the state.

It is a legal obligation and discipline within the framework of the common law, which includes that all citizens are equal before it.

It is linked to a set of values such as brotherhood, cooperation, patriotism, dialogue, respect for differences and national unity.

With the beginning of the third millennium, Arab societies have witnessed rapid changes in all areas of life.

Which led to the emergence of new behavioral patterns, most notably the clear change in the relationship of individuals to the state and society.

Therefore, it's impossible to establish reform without modernizing mentalities, introducing new upbringing systems and developing it to suit new events.

In our Lebanese society, for example, where patriotism is unfortunately ent, it is replaced by many other loyalties, such as parties, sects, causes or foreign countries.

Citizenship education appears to be a basic historical and political need, and therefore, an existential one.

It aims to raise the learner as a loyal and righteous citizen, and to form his personality and upgrade his perceptions, behaviors and skills in his personal life, as well as in his participation in public affairs, as he is an interactive and positive citizen far from selfishness and isolation.
