Abstract EN

In this study, we seek to identify the phenomenon of linguistic hegemony over culture through the book “women and language” by the Saudi thinker “Abdullah al-ghadami” through the language that a man possesses and uses as a means of controlling woman, it is the book of “woman and language”.

“Abdullah al-ghadami” is the first Arab thinker who paid extensive attention to this issue in particular and to everything that falls within the framework of feminist philosophy and cultural criticism in general.

Therefore, the man problem of our research is related to the linguistic dominance of culture, with men controlling language and depriving women of it, as we find that al-ghadami in this book tries to trace the emergence of this phenomenon and its transformations, indicating that even it the woman remained subject to being deprived of her right to language for a long period of time, a shift occurred in the contemporary period represented in her realization of the necessity of restoring her right to the language through her intrusion into the field of writing this is what is represented in the emergence of feminist writing.

We have found through this research that the man is the master of the language, and despite the woman's attempt to compete with him in that, this task was not and will not be easy because the language's words were formulated with a masculine perspective.
