This study examines the causes and factors of the rise of populist parties, the use of populist rhetoric to win the masses, strengthening the power of these currents and populist parties during party competition, elections and representative democracy, and its impact on the future of democracy in Europe.

by clarifying the results of some populist parties in the elections for some European union countries and for the European parliament.

the study explains the rise of some populist parties in Europe, and thus discusses the determinants and factors of the rise of populist parties in Europe.

it is clear that these parties are completely contrary to the values of democracy.

the study then discusses the role of the European union as an institution in protecting democracy and addressing the dangers of populism.

the study found some results, most notably that populism has negative effects on democracy, which is evident in Europe, as well as affecting moderate political parties and elites, and populism attempts to induce the public to talk about sensitive issues such as the issue of dealing with migrants.

the study also made some recommendations, most notably that moderate parties in Europe must act against the rise of populist currents, and that the government must face populism and its emblems economically, protecting and preserving well-being.
