The emergence of the internet ; in general, and social networking sites ; in particular, have created modern ways of communicating and expressing opinions, ideas, convictions, social, political, and ideological trends.

it has become a platform through which freedoms are exercised.

however, some users have exceeded the limits of respect for the freedom of others' privacy, making these platforms an arena in which symbolic violence is notably practised, whether through writing, voice or image.

this practice is commonly known as cyber-bullying, in which a bully exploits internet websites ; such as, social networking sites to conduct aggressive, high-pitched messages in order to insult, or even slander someone's reputation aimed at demonizing and harming his psychology to the level of depression and suicide to get rid of blackmail against him.

cyber-bullying has been a well-known phenomenon within societies.

it has the potential to spread and develop among social groups.

therefore, this negative phenomenon has been a common concern among scholars and researchers worldwide for its n social stability.

therefore, the only strategy which is available is to better exploit and employ the media education system to reduce, even relatively, this electronic crime of cyber-bullying.
