The current study aimed to identify the relation between emotional creativity, problem solving, academic ambition and psychological well-being among University students.
The study also attempted to shed light on the differences in emotional creativity according to gender (male/ female), academic grade (first/ fourth).
It was meant to reveal the impact of the study variables on predicting emotional creativity among the sample of the study.
The sample included (352) students (188 males - 164 females) By (191) in the first year, (161) in the fourth.
Their age ranged from (19-22) years old, an average of (20.6), and standard deviation estimated (1.25).
Four scales were used in the study; the emotional creativity, problem-solving, academic ambition were prepared by the researcher whereas psychological well-being measure was prepared by Samira Shend, (2013).
The results of the study revealed that there was a statistical significant correlation at (0.01) level among the various dimensions of emotional creativity and the total score as well as the dimensions of problem solving measure and total score.
Furthermore, the results indicated that there was a statistical significant correlation (0.01) between the students' scores and the dimensions of emotional creativity and the total score, as well as their grades and the dimensions psychological well-being and total score.
In addition, the results also indicated the differences in emotional creativity according to gender in favor of females.
There were no differences among students in emotional creativity according to the variable of academic grade (first/ fourth).
The results also indicated that there is an interaction between gender and academic grade in the emotional novelty dimension.
Finally, the results indicated problem solving, psychological well-being and academic ambition were predicators of emotional creativity among the sample of the study.
The results were analyzed in the light of previous literature and the previous studies.
