The issue of the Renaissance Dam represented a course of great controversy among all political, academic and popular circles in Egypt because of the danger it poses to Egyptian water security.

And it has become one of the most important challenges facing the Egyptian decision-maker due to the danger of this dam on agriculture and the electricity of the High Dam in Egypt, The issue of the Renaissance Dam has passed through several stages since 2011 until the present time, oscillating between agreement and disagreement between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan to reach a solution that satisfies all parties.

However, the Ethiopian intransigence still stands as a stumbling block to the Egyptian diplomacy's efforts to reach an agreement that would achieve Ethiopia's right to development and Egypt and Sudan's right to the waters of the Nile.
