هدف الدراسة : يعد التسمم بنبات الداتورة (نبات من الفصيلة الباذنجانية) من المشاكل الشائعة نسبيا.
و قد أجريت هذه الدراسة لإثارة اهتمام الأطباء و الأهل بهذا التسمم و مخاطره. طريقة الدراسة : أدخلت إحدى و عشرين حالة تسمم ببذور نبات الداتورة إلى وحدة الطوارئ في مستشفى بابل للولادة و الأطفال، حيث تمت دراسة الحالات بعد الإنعاش من حيث المتغيرات الخاصة بالمرضى و أمهاتهم و كذلك العلامات السريرية و العلاج المستخدم. النتائج : وجد أن حالات التسبب كانت أكثر شيوعا في عمر 2 – 1 سنة (42.8%) و كان الذكور أكثر تعرضا من الإناث (71.4%).
كانت الأعراض السريرية الأكثر مشاهدة هي تسرع القلب (100%) و الهيجان (95.2%) و توسع الحدقة (81%) و البيغ (76.1%).
لقد استعمل علاج النيوستكمين بنجاح، و لم تسجل وفيات. الخلاصة : إن التسمم بنبات الداتورة شائع في مدينة بابل في العراق، و خصوصا لدى الرضع، و هو ذو إنذار جيد.
Abstract EN
Objective: Datura stramonium poisoning is reported to be a relatively common problem.
The aim of this study is to alert doctors and parents about this poisoning and its danger. Methods: Twenty one patients who presented to the emergency department at Babylon Maternity and Children's Hospital with features of intoxication with Datura seeds, were studied after treatment.
Variables of the patients and their mothers, clinical features, and treatment were studied. Results: The commonest age was 1-2 years (42.8%).
Males were affected more than females (71.4%).
The most frequent clinical features were, tachycardia (100%), agitation (95.2%), dilated pupils (81%), and flushing (76.1%).
Neostigmine was used for treatment and no deaths were reported. Conclusion: Datura stramonium poisoning is a common problem in Babylon city especially in infants.
It carries a good prognosis.
