Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal the degree to which students of general secondary education suffer from the problem of digital exclusion, to achieve this goal the study based on the analytical descriptive approach conducted a theoretical analysis of the educational literature to clarify what is meant by digital exclusion, its most important dimensions, and the reasons leading to it, it also presented an explanation of digital exclusion from the point of view of sociology, then this was followed by a field study to determine the reality of the dimensions of digital exclusion by applying a questionnaire to a sample of general secondary education students consisting of (834) male and female students, by analyzing the results the study revealed that secondary education students suffer greatly from digital exclusion through its dimensions : weak technological infrastructure necessary to implement the digital education system with regard to the school environment as well as the student’s environment, in addition to the weakness of their digital skills, as well as the negative beliefies and attitudes towards the application of digital technology, which is an indication of their suffering from digital exclusion, so the study presented a proposed vision including a set of measures to confront this problem and try to achieve integration into the digital education system.
