English Abstract

The Postmodern theater was associated with the period of the sixties of the twentieth century, which was distinguished by its peculiar features.

Among the most important of these features are the unclear features of the theatrical characters, and the dismantling of the unity of the event and the irregular rhythm within the theatrical work and the actor the most important of these elements that were affected by this new theatrical wave.

This research tried to answer On the question of the problem and what are the performance mechanisms of the actor in terms of aesthetics and visuals in postmodern theater.

The research consisted of four chapters.

The first chapter was devoted to the methodological framework of the research, in which it defines the research problem, the importance of the research, the objectives of the research, and the limits of the research, and then defines the most important terms mentioned in the title of the research.

As for the second chapter, the theoretical framework, it included two topics, the first in which the researcher dealt with - the mechanisms of the actor’s performance through the ages - and the second topic in which the researcher dealt with the most important techniques of the actor in the postmodern theater, and then the research indicators.

The third chapter included the research procedures and chose The researcher is an intentional sample, which is a play (A Reprimand) directed by Anas Abdel Samad, as it achieves the goal of the research.

The fourth chapter includes the most important research results and a list of sources and references.
