Abstract EN

The aim of the research is to identify the conceptual framework of administrative competencies in contemporary educational thought, and to identify the reality of administrative competencies for heads of academic departments at south valley university, focusing on four axes represented in competencies (technical, cognitive, personal, technological) ; to achieve the objectives of the research and answer its questions, the researcher used the descriptive approach, and the research relied on the questionnaire as a main tool for data collection, and it was applied to a sample of (285), among the university's male and female faculty and assistant staff members in some theoretical and practical faculties at south valley university, the statistical analysis program (SPSS) was used to analyze the data, and the research reached several results that, in total, indicate the weakness of the administrative competencies of the heads of academic departments, which are represented in technical competencies, competencies cognitive, personal, and technological competencies ; where it came with average degrees of availability according to the opinions of the sample members with an arithmetic mean (0.42) and a standard deviation (1.74), the research ended with proposing a set of recommendations that enhance the acquisition of the heads of academic departments at south valley university with the administrative competencies necessary to develop their administrative performance, and to effectively confront developments in order to achieve the highest level of practices, processes, products and services in the department, college and university.
