Abstract EN

The current study aimed to identify the extent to which healthy, educated adults (working versus non-working) have alexithymia, which was measured and monitored on the Bermond-Forst alexithymia scale.

The study sample consisted of (57 females), ranging in age from (21-60 years).

The results of the study showed that there are substantial differences between the two research groups (working women versus non-working women) on the dimensions of the scale (pronunciation, imagination, specificity, emotionality, and analysis).

The differences were explained on the utterance dimension and the total degree of the scale in the direction of working women and also came in the direction of non-working women on the analysis dimension.

This indicates that non-working females are less susceptible to alexithymia (vocalization and total degree) than female workers
