Abstract EN

This study aims to define the concept of media crime in accordance with the Penal Code and media laws, as well as to determine the scope of criminal liability resulting from violations of the provisions and controls relating to the practice of media work in Algeria, and the justifications for criminal liability of moral persons such as natural persons if such crimes are committed on behalf or on behalf of the media organization.

The Algerian legislator restricted the practice of media work and put an end to the beginning of the rights and freedoms of others, so that they are not abused and do not target the values of interest to every human being, namely honour and consideration, which is protected by law by criminalizing abuses of the right to criticism when they reach the point of defamation, slander or humiliation, because failure to restrict the right to criticism can lead to chaos and unrest in social life.
