Abstract EN

If psychological counseling for families of normal children is a necessity, then it becomes more urgent for families of children with disabilities.

This is due to the stressful conditions these families go through, and the emotional disturbances within them, such as tension, anxiety, anger, resentment, frustration, guilt, helplessness, lack of control, hopelessness and depression.

Additionally, these families bear further burdens because of the intensive efforts required to care of the disabled child, and the exorbitant expenses to provide for his special needs and development requirements.

This brings weaknesses in the family structure and the functioning of its system while trying to coexist with the atmosphere of a disabled child.

Therefore, it is imperative to provide physical and moral support to these groups and their families through psychological counseling services.

Accordingly, this study aims to highlight psychological counseling for families with special needs.
