The present research aims at identifying: 1.
Measuring the self-control of middle school students2.
measuring addiction to social networking sites3.
The relationship between self-control and addiction to social networking sites among middle school students.
The research was conducted on a sample consisting of (50) students from the preparatory stage in Baghdad - Rusafa, and were selected in a simple random way.
To achieve the research objectives only, the researcher adopted a measurement which represented in the scale (Khadr -2009) for self-control and the measure of addiction to communication sites (Yunus-2016).
The data were processed statistically.
The results of the study showed a low level of self-control of students, high level of addiction to social networking sites, and the existence of an inverse correlation between the two variables of the current research.
Recommendations and proposals have been developed in light of the findings of the research
