English Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of surveillance cameras in detecting and reducing crime.

This study followed the quantitative study method through descriptive and analytical research method based on a questionnaire where the study population included all the security men and citizens in the Kuwaiti society, who numbered ( 1,385,960 ).

The study sample consisted of ( 344 ), ( 192 ) Kuwaiti security men, and ( 192 ) Kuwaiti citizens randomly, analyzable questionnaires reached ( 289 ) individuals from the security men and citizens in the State of Kuwait.

The study reached the most important results is the presence of a high degree of importance of the role of surveillance cameras in the detection and reduction of crime mean reached ( 4.109 ), and the study found that there are no significant negatives of surveillance cameras.

The study also found that there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level ( 0.05 ) in the opinions of the sample of the study on the role of surveillance cameras in reducing crime due to ( work, sex, age, and educational qualification ).

Based on the results, the study reached recommendations, the most important of which is to change the places of surveillance cameras periodically to prevent the perpetrators from knowing where.
