The interaction between religion and politics led to the creation of a new pattern of political action on the Turkish arena known as political Islam, which went through several stages of changes and transformations in the wake of political and social developments.

Two groups, the first calling for the return of Islam legally and legally, while the second group calls for the interpretation of Islam according to the requirements of the changing era.

As a result, the sharp debates about the status of Turkish political Islam increased.

With the arrival of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to power and his support for the Islamic movement, his speech differs greatly from his mentor Erbakan, the leader of the movement.

The Turkish Islamist, as he adopts Islamic concepts by embracing democracy and defending human rights and the rule of law, which are values that originated in the West, so his response to the contemporary world order was interpreted as the main source of its success and its orientations were presented as a pro-European Union reform movement within Turkish political Islam, so that it has been proposed as a cure-all for the rise of religious fundamentalism and as a role model for the Muslim world.
