The process of amending the Iraqi constitution for the year 2005 in force faces political and procedural obstacles.

This lies in what is proven by the reality of the failure of the Constitutional Amendments Committee to amend the constitution.

The constitution suffers from defects, ambiguity, contradictions and contradictions in some of its texts, because it was written in a hurry, and in exceptional circumstances and conditions represented by the Anglo-American occupation.

All of this calls for a demand to amend the constitution, in accordance with the mechanisms stipulated by the constitution itself, represented by the procedures contained in Article (126) and Article (142) which include the right of veto for three governorates, and not to adhere to the argument of its inertia, to keep pace with changes in the situation, and that any obstruction to these changes and developments From expressing itself by amending the constitution, the door will be opened for the amendment by illegal methods.
