Abstract EN

The city of Mahdia has an important historical position as it is the first metropolitan of the Fatimids and their capital in North Africa, in which their king grew and its features were formed, by Ubayd Allah al-Mahdi, who is considered the first founder of the Fatimid caliphate after he succeeded in gaining the support of the Berber tribes and eliminating the Aghlabid state.

Many residents of the region accepted it, and from the scientific point of view the Fatimid caliphs played an encouraging role in attracting many scholars and thinkers.

In addition to the centers of education that played a major role in spreading the Ismaili sect and its culture
