Abstract EN

Colonialism in Africa believed that the division of Africa into groups of different goals, methods and orientations would hinder the establishment of African unity, but the African countries managed to overcome this issue and worked to bring the views of these groups closer, and a fruitful rapprochement appeared between Arab and non-Arab African countries in support of the liberation movements.

African colonialism and standing up to Zionist ambitions in the Arab region.

Morocco played a major role in this field and called for a conference to be held in Casablanca in January 1961 at the request of King Hassan II.

The aim was to unify the ranks of African countries to get rid of colonial hegemony and pave the way for the establishment of the Organization of African Nations Community.

Consequently, the Addis Ababa Conference was held on the 23rd of May 1963, which resulted in the declaration of the establishment of the Organization of African Unity on the 28th of May 1963.
