Abstract EN

The research aimed at identifying the relation between social support and psychological rigidity among a sample of cancer patients in Taiz City.

the researcher used the descriptive correlative method.

The research sample was 100 of the most frequently visiting patients to Alamal center for cancer therapy of both sexes.

two tools were used, namely the social support scale by the researcher and the psychological rigidity scale by Rola Alsafadi (2013).

the research arrived at the following findings: - the level of psychological rigidity among cancer patients was below the average.

- the level of social support among cancer patients was below the average.

- there were no statistically significant differences at ( ≥ α 0.05) in the level of psychological rigidity due to sex variable as both sexes got scores below the average.

- there were no statistically significant differences at ( ≥ α 0.05) in the level of social support due to sex variable as both sexes got scores below the average.

- there was a positive and weak correlation between psychological rigidity and social support among cancer patients.
