Abstract AR

Twenty-five pediatrics patients presenting with acute infantile hemiplegia were evaluated clinically and radiologically.

Right-sided hemiplegia was the initial presentation in 60%.

In 10 patients (40%), convulsions accompanied the hemiplegia.

The most common underlying causes were CNS infection and head injury although no apparent cause was found in 24%.

The most common finding on CT scan was cerebral infarction.
