The victory of the Justice and Development Party in the 2002 elections constituted a central turning point in Turkey's foreign policy towards the Arab region and its fateful issues، as there was an important change in the policy of the Turkish government formed by the Justice and Development Party، which has Islamic orientations and roots from the Palestinian cause، which the new political leadership considered.

Turkey holds the key through which to develop its relations with Arab and Islamic countries.

The research focused mainly on the nature of the important transformation that occurred in Turkey's foreign policy towards the Palestinian issue after 2002، especially its position on the Israeli aggression on Gaza in 2008، as well as the Israeli aggression on the Turkish Freedom Flotilla in 2010، and the Turkish reaction to it.
