The incidence of Littre's hernia in children is unknown.
The diagnosis is usually made at operation or autopsy, 'tis is the case report of a 3 year old female patient, who presented to the emergency room of Aleppo University ospital in May 2005 with incarcerated right inguinal hernia.
On physical examination, the hernia was hard and reducible.
There were no symptoms or signs of bowel obstruction.
In an emergency procedure, exploratory parotomy revealed a strangulated Littre's (Richter's) hernia.
