Abstract EN

In recent years, Islamic banks intended to adopt a strategy of digital transformation and financial technology.

Therefore, the research aims to shed light on the strategy of transformation by studying the concept of digital transformation and its dimensions, explaining the role of financial technology in the digital transformation of Islamic banking, in addition to examining the extent to which the objectives of Sharia are achieved and the suitability for the digital transformation strategy.

The research also aims at exploring the jurisprudential origin of digital transformation and the associated harms and benefits therein and to compare them.

The research adopted descriptive analytical approach and concluded that digital banking has become a modern alternative to banks in their traditional form, the banks must transform for ensuring the sustainability purposes, moreover the technology must be placed at the core of their functioning.

The survival in local and global competition requires the banks to keep pace with developments by synchronizing with the changing customer demands and the requirements of the times.

The researcher views the permissibility of digital transformation based on the evidence stemming from Qur’an, Sunnah and objectives of the Shari’ah.
