The aim of the study is to identify the extent to which the Iraqi public depends on the media as a source of information and news during the crisis of the child Ryan.

The researchers used media survey، and depended on the questionnaire form as a tool for collecting study data، and the study has come up with a set of results، the most important of which is that social media networks have taken the main of the media in terms of follow-up and relying on it، by the respondents in their follow-up to the crisis.

Al-Arabiya channel is one of the main satellite channels through which the respondents followed the crisis، and Instagram ranked first in terms of follow-up by the respondents compared to other social networks.

Meanwhile the results showed that the social media has succeeded to some extent in covering the crisis through the acknowledgment of most of the respondents that the media provided the sufficient information about the crisis at a very large scale in their follow-up to the crisis of the child Rayan.
