Abstract EN

This study seeks to find out what is new about the competency approach that was adopted in the recent reforms in the Algerian school.

this approach, which came in response to the urgent demand that social and professional life awaits from the school, it is outputs capable of proper behavior and effective use of acquired knowledge.

this study also seeks to find out the importance of this approach in the teaching / learning process, trying to shed light on the various options it offers in teaching and evaluating the Arabic language in the curriculum of the fifth year of primary school.

this year was chosen because it represents the period of control over the basic learning as it was called the curriculum, and its pupils represent the outcomes of the second generation in the primary stage.

this study is a descriptive study, but it seeks to combine the theoretical and applied sides ; based on the extrapolation and analysis of some contents of the second-generation curricula in the Arabic language for the fifth year of primary school ; to answer the following question : what are the various options offered by the competency approach in teaching and evaluating the Arabic language in the fifth-year primary curriculum ?
