Abstract EN

Writing is a medium that involves the representation of a spoken language through a system of physically inscribed symbols.

the relation between the system of symbols that represents a certain language’s phonology and morphology becomes very familiar to its users to the extent of making them believe that it is a true representation of speech.

but if we think about it, we find out that the writing symbols are sometimes could not embody all the sound features associated with the range of phonemes that a spoken language could encompass.

based on the aforementioned hypothesis, the aim of our research paper is to answer the following question : to what extent does the Arabic writing system correspond to the correct spelling of its phonemes ? the purpose of this study is to discuss a range of issues related to the Arabic writing system and its compatibility with the articulated sounds in a variety of cases, illustrating this with examples.
