Abstract EN

The research includes four chapters.

the first chapter includes the methodological framework for research and the research problem centered in the following interrogative: •what is the character of Satan and represented in the theatrical text (the new Faust as a model)? while the importance of the research and the need for it came towards the current research interest in shedding light on the personality of Satan and its representation in the theatrical text (the new Faust as a model).

the aim of the research is to know the character of Satan and its representation in the theatrical text (the new Faust as a model), while the limits of the research were limited to the text of the play (the new Faust) spatially (Egypt) for the time period of 1967.

the chapter concluded with a definition of terms and a procedural definition, which is "an evil being who is out of god's obedience and is considered the embodiment of evil.

as for the second chapter, the theoretical framework and previous studies, it included three sections.

the first topic concerned me with studying the personality of Satan in the heavenly religions and how the three religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) dealt with it, and the second topic was concerned with studying the personality of Satan in the theatrical text and how the character of Satan appeared.

the chapter concluded with the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework and previous studies.

as for the third chapter, it included the research procedures, which is the research community, and the research sample that the researcher chose in an intentional way in line with the research topic, its problem and its objectives.
