Abstract EN

This study aimed to analyze the determinants of insolvency risks for insurance companies in Jordan listed on Amman stock exchange.

the study collected and analyzed the annual data listed on Amman stock exchange for (10) insurance companies, during the period (2005-2017), by using the panel data method.

the results of the study demonstrated that there is a negative impact for the financial leverage on insolvency risks, and that there is a positive and intangible impact of the profitability of the general insurance of the company on insolvency risks, while no intangible impact for the profitability of life insurance exists on insolvency risks, and that there is a negative and intangible impact for the size of the company on insolvency risks.

the study recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that managers of insurance companies in Jordan should improve investment decisions and follow up the insurance contracts marketing strategy very well to increase the companies' assets.
