Abstract EN

As it is important to record and measure the role of social communication websites in directing the interests of the Saudi audience towards the Arab political affairs and prioritizing these interests according to their relative im-portance in the light of what the ‘prioritizing’ theory proposes, this study was conducted to examine the role of new mass media in forming the priorities of the interests of the audience in the affairs which see tools as their interest in society.

besides, the study seeks to record the effects of the variables on setting the political agendas of the Saudi audience especially the demo-graphical characteristics of the subjects of the study ( gender – age – level of education – socio-economic level).the most important findings of the study were the following :there is a statistically significant relationship between the order of the social communication websites for the Arab and foreign political affairs and the order of the Saudi audience for the same affairs.whenever the dependence of the Saudi audience of the study sam-ple on social communication websites as a major source of infor-mation related to arab and foreign political affairs increases, the cor-respondence between the political priorities presented by these channels and the political priorities adopted by the Saudi audience increase.the gender variable affects the strength of the connection between the priorities of the Arab and foreign political affairs in social com-munication websites and these priorities for that audience.the level of political interest affects the strength of the connection between the priorities of the Arab and foreign political affairs in so-cial communication websites and these priorities for that audience.
