The research problem was identified in the students' low level of functional writing skills; this was confirmed by previous studies, in addition to the field’s lack of an educational program that develops these skills.

the researcher put appropriate questions to address this educational problem and answered it procedurally.

the researcher used the descriptive and quasi-experimental approach to identify the problem, analyze its data, apply the proposed program and indicate its effectiveness.

the current research was limited to an intentional research group of fifth grade secondary students.

the research concluded a list of functional writing skills for fifth grade secondary students, and the research confirmed the effectiveness of the error analysis approach in developing functional writing skills.
